So I have been doing A TON of design lately and it is beginning` to pay off. Sometimes in the form of $$ and sometimes in the form of recognition. Here are some things I have been working on as of late. First is the album artwork for Morning Will Break which is an up and coming band.
Check out their myspace.
Next is some stuff I am doing for school. I am doing a final project for one of my classes. We had to do a branding Identity for a fictional company. I turned it in and the teach LOVED it! So much so that it is now displayed on the 3rd floor of the MTSU building.
And finally, if you live in the Nashville area check your newspapers on wednesday and Friday for the Easter promo ad I did for the Church.

Once again being a middle school worship leader. Every creative element we do is geared toward the middle school age range. So here is what we do instead of someone doing the regular old boring announcements each week we do the announcements Daily Show style.
Basically we dig up some funny situations or things that have happened in the lives of our students and try to find a picture or a youtube video they have uploaded and have fun with it. For example, one of our guys had a mini bike and well ate it!! So basically, you show the clip , the others laugh , and then you comment on it. I think I said something to the effect of, “if you see him moving a little slowly this week, be nice, he hit his head pretty hard.”After you showcase one of the students we blend in a couple of real announcements about upcoming events…etc!
Honest this is a really fun thing to do on both a middle school and even an adult level. Cause lets be honest we all love the Daily show and the Colbert Report.[below is the video of my middle school dude eating it on the bike

So Los over at Ragamuffin Soul has put the challenge out to post a creative thing, idea, or element that we have done recently or will do soon at our weekly church programs. So here we go.
My ideas are for now geared toward middle school ministry. Considering I am the middle school worship guy, when I hear a song or get an idea I usually think about how I can use it within the middle school mind set. And this idea is right up the middle school alley.
Many have seen Crowder rocking the guitar hero during the bands set. If not go find it on Youtube and you will not be sorry. When I saw this I said to myself, “I am going to do that”!
So with the help of some friends we have successfully worked it out and I am going to bust it out at middle school fusion here in a couple weeks.
What you need
- 1. First is a guitar hero controller, preferably PSII
- 2. PSII to USB adaptor found on ebay.
- 3. A Mac with Grageband or Logic pro or Express
- 4. A $15 program called controllermate
- 5. A little computer know h0w
Instructions
After purchasing the Controllermate program you have to configure all the buttons on the musical typing keyboard into chords on the regular piano then in the controllermate program you assign those notes to a specific button. After you get it all mapped out you can use the program to jump pages with different chords and even use some pitch bends. Then open up Garageband or Logic and ROCK ON!
I will post a video of what I can do with it at a later time.
Enjoy!
